We are going to wear ourselves out at GoFISHN if we keep listening so closely to our customers.
When we launched GoFISHn widgets a few weeks ago, quite a few members were quick to make use of them, but some folks wondered why we limited the contents of those widgets to the contents of their profile. In other words, the only widgets that we made available carried either a member's feed or a member's photo stream. And some folks asked, why not a custom feed or say, striped bass? or Snake river? or That was a really good question, and now we've got a really good answer: Custom widgets.
Now you can create a widget containing a feed of posts from all our members on just about any subject you want.
Here's how it works: Log into your account, and then type the "subject" (for example, trout) of the custom widget into the search field in the upper right of any page, hit search, and wait for your search result page. Scroll to the bottom of the page and you'll see a link labeled "create widget." (see illustration below). Click on that link, and you'll get the widget and the code to put that widget on your page.
You can create as may of these as you like, and even change them up if you like. Custom widgets are a great way to make your site or blog more interesting. Here's one for "striped bass:"
